PE4_JPEGMini

Currently in my EMDT course, we are working on our Relevant and Innovative Learning Scenario (RILS) project. In order to complete this task, we had to revisit our previous posts from Web Tool 2.0. I am going to be using my JPEGMini tool. This tool is very beneficial to my project at hand because it involves pictures, and there are a lot pictures and illustrations involved with my vision. It is very important to remember that when uploading a lot of material, you want to make sure the material has quality over quantity. There can be a lot of material for someone to look at, but if the picture is blurry and   not legible, who is going to take the time to try and decipher what it is?

An awesome benefit with using JPEGMIni is that it is completely FREE!!!! I could only imagine how much it would be to upload a large amount of information with a large price tag to go along with it! Using this tool, you can upload complete full albums of information for the customer to find without having to search the site to find what they are looking for. The files can be used also with Flickr and Picasa. These are two other sites that involve editing pictures and making them look their best. The ultimate best feature is unlimited usage! When describing something with illustrations, it is great to not have to have a limit on what you are doing. The more information and illustration, the better!

BP4_JPEGMini

I chose to use the Web Tool, JPEGMini for my apartment buildings that I am currently in the process of developing. This tool can come in to play because it displays pictures. When looking for an apartment, most individuals want to see how much space they are working with in each room. I know from personal experience that when I look for a place, I want to see what the room personally looks like, rather than looking at a blueprint sketch of the apartment. When using this tool, each room can be displayed through the JPEG showing all the angles of the room for the prospective customer. If someone is moving from out of state or coming from out of town, it would be impossible for them to come and view the apartment before they decide to move here; therefore, by looking online on the website at the depth of each room and an actual image of what the room looks like, the customer can get all that information at one time without having to make any trips.

JPEG Mini

I believe this tool is going to be very beneficial to the website because you can add however many pictures you like to the site using JPEGMini. Along with the pictures of the apartments, there could be pictures of the location, what is near the apartment complex, the pool/lounge area, different forms of recreation and etc. I am more of a visual person that likes to see what I am getting into rather than taking someone's word on something. With the image below, it states that you can upload 80 images instead of 16 to Gmail messages.

Extra Features

Overall, I believe this tool would be very helpful with what needs to be done with the website. By adding pictures of what is being offered, it helps to relate to the visual audience that operates better by looking at what is offered rather than just reading a description; furthermore, pictures are interesting to look at! Looking at these pictures also helps to design the perfect page and go step by step through instructions and tutorials to ensure the most is received through JPEGMini.

ADDIE Process

The ADDIE model is by far the best instructional sequence that is available today. The ADDIE instructional design model provides a step-by-step process that helps individuals plan and create training programs. The ADDIE design model consists of (1) Analysis, (2) Design, (3) Development, (4) Implementation, and (5) Evaluation. Each step in the ADDIE model has an outcome that feeds into the next step in the sequence.

Analysis

During the analysis phase, an individual identifies the problem, the goals and objectives. the audience's needs, existing knowledge, and other relevant characteristics. The ADDIE analysis phase serves a major role in the quality assurance process. It defines the project's needs and ways to measure its success. If an individual skips the ADDIE analysis phase, mistakes can easily be made while analyzing the project.

Design

During the design phase, an individual designs their overall vision. Detailed storyboards and sketches are  abundant in this phase. During the design phase, an individual reviews the importance of creating the perfect objective. Some questions that can be asked are:

  • How should content be organized?
  • How should ideas be presented to an audience?
  • What delivery format should be used?
  • What types of activities and exercises will best help your audience?
Development

A successful development phase draws upon the information collected in the needs analysis phase and the decisions made in the instructional design phase. The development phase often adapts to fit the project and the client's needs. Some strategic processes that Intulogy's training specialists use to create training materials for their clients are:

  • Create a prototype
  • Develop the course materials
  • Conduct a tabletop review
  • Run a pilot session
Implementation

The ADDIE model provides a systematic methodology to plan, develop, and test the idea before it launches. The plan is put into action and a procedure for training the audience is developed. After delivery, the effectiveness of the training materials is evaluated.

Evaluation

During this phase, the initial design and plan is evaluated and changes are made if and when necessary. The ADDIE model stresses the concept that good training programs require planning, review, and revision. The evaluation phase measures the initial designs' efficiency and locates opportunities to improve. Some questions that can be asked during the evaluation phase are:

  • Does the audience like the course?
  • Does the audience achieve the learning objectives?
  • Does the program help the company achieve its business goals?
I definitely learned a lot about this instructional method. ADDIE is beneficial in so many ways that it has all the core components needed to produce a great product or service. This model I feel is the best model that could help with the program that I want to create. I am in the process of producing apartment complexes that are targeted specifically for college students. Analyzing the situation at hand, a lot of students don't have the means and resources necessary to complete certain things when first getting to college. I could include so many things during the analyzing phase. Secondly, designing would be easy. I already have the way I want everything to be designed down to the blueprints; however, changes could be made if necessary. The rest of the model goes hand in hand. The implementation phase will take place when these apartments are in the construction phase and evaluated once they are built. I believe this model is very helpful and beneficial and when comparing to other models, I don't feel there is one out there to compare.

PE3_iMovie

The ending tutorials I find to be the best because you actually get to make your movie!! The last parts of the tutorial show you how to incorporate pictures into the movie. Adding pictures into the movie as well as titles are imperative because it is telling a story about the movie you are trying to make. Along with adding pictures come adding sound effects, movies, as well as voiceovers. I personally have used my own voice in making an iMovie to make the movie your own. I wanted to personalize what I had made, it made it that more special. The most interesting part that I enjoyed was that they have several features on here that allow you to make your own movie trailer, just like they do with movies! The screenshot I have below shows a movie trailer option that I have seen on several movies in the opening credits, just amazing!

Tutorial shows how to add movie trailers

I definitely enjoyed the tutorial! I went exploring through iMovie when I first received my computer, but I never knew what I could do with iMovie after watching the tutorial! I am all finished!

Certificate of Completion

Video:

The video below that I created is of my daughter Dyman. I put together a scrapbook of a few pictures of her at birth and incorporated a song called "Sure Thing" to play in the background. It means a lot to me because it's describing my love for how a mother's love for their children is none other than a sure thing!

PE2_iMovie

The best part of making a movie is editing the movie! This part of the tutorial I found to be very informative and very interesting. A movie can be edited by rating the footage of your movie and putting it in the order of your choice. When putting the items in order, your making a chronological timeline of the events and the order in which they occurred. The Mac computer has taught me so much because I started to make a timeline of my high school and college years with my closest friends and was not sure exactly how to edit and add different information. This assignment came at the perfect time! I learned how to edit and do so much more!

Still shows how to rate slides and put them in order of your choice.

By rating the images, iMovie also has a feature that enables you to find a specific person in your album. Every person that you add into your movie can be named and when you want to find a specific person, you can type their name in and go right to them. I love this feature, saves a lot of time when wanting to delete a specific person!

Shows how to find a specific person in the iMovie.

I am more than halfway through the tutorial and am very interested! I love being able to customize things and make them my own. I'm excited to see what the end of the tutorial is going to illustrate!

Showing that I have completed majority of the tutorial.
